The Cocoa Room

Originating out of Kuwait, this ‘breakfast only’ restaurant located in the Galleria Mall serves an impressive host of indulgent dishes so be prepared for the calories. From their Turkish Eggs to their infamous Scrambled Egg Money Bags with shaved black truffles and parmesan, it’s definitely the place to go on a cheat day. If you want to satisfy those sugar cravings, try the Red Velvet pancakes with cheese frosting and almond crumble from their ‘Sweeter Things’ menu. Our favorite is their Hot Chocolate with salted caramel and burnt marshmallow. It’s epic.

The trip down memory lane

Bastakiya Quarter

Dating back to the 19th century and established by pearl & textile traders from Bastak, Iran, this is Dubai’s most engaging and oldest neighbourhood. Its labyrinth lanes are lined with restored merchant houses, cafes, boutique hotels and art galleries where you can enjoy Emirati, Iranian and Middle Eastern art. The XVA Gallery Art Hotel & Café is Dubai’s best kept secret retreat, with its three original wind towers, a sumptuous lounge and starry rooftop. Perfect on a cool summers evening…

Al Serkal Avenue

A former neglected warehouse district tucked away in Dubai’s Al Quoz neighborhood, Al Serkal Avenue is the epicenter for Dubai’s multi-cultural, melting-pot art scene with galleries, shops, studies and cafes. A must visit is The Odd Piece Gallery, a treasure trove packed with vibrant vintage furnishings. The new eco friendly café, Hapi, with a space for yoga, capoeira and mediation, is the destination for the health conscious. Also famous for its homemade ice cream.
